Country Star Luke Bryan Takes Hilarious Photo With Terminally Ill Grandma
For 88-year-old Frances Stanaway from Missouri, meeting country music star Luke Bryan was the “night of her life.”
She’s battling a terminal illness and got to meet Bryan through the organization Crossroads Hospice & Palliative Care. Her meeting, though, went a little further than the usual photo op and hug.
“Crossroads has a ‘Gift of a Day’ campaign that tries to make these final wishes come true for these hospice patients,” said Tracy Bunch, the coordinator of the campaign at Crossroads to ABC news.
The team at Crossroads Hospice & Palliative Care made Stanaway a special shirt that read “Shake It for Me, Luke!” and printed a picture of his behind on it.
Bryan ended up signing the shirt for her and “grabbed her hands and put them on his butt and posed like that,” Bunch said. “Her eyes were probably the biggest they’ve ever gotten at that moment.”
“I touched his butt … and got a hug,” Stanaway told AARP.
After that, Stanaway’s son and daughter-in-law said she couldn’t stop smiling.
Bryan implemented a “no touching policy” at meet and greets after so many fans started asking to kiss him on the cheek or grab his butt in photos, so this was a special photo op.
After the show, Crossroads printed an enlarged copy of the picture of Stanaway with Bryan and now, Stanaway has that hanging up in her nursing room.
