Kendall Jenner Shares Tips For Overcoming Anxiety
TV personality Kendall Jenner recently opened up about her battle with chronic anxiety and shared coping strategies with her fans.
In a blog post on her app, Jenner admitted that “anxiety was a huge hurdle for me to deal with this past year (and security concerns didn’t help), but I think I’m finally learning how to cope.” She also revealed some of her methods for dealing with anxiety attacks, such as breathing exercises or actively distracting herself when she feels one coming on. She wrote that “I learned that it’s all mental, so I try to prevent anxiety attacks by bringing my mind somewhere else.”
She developed a fear of flying after experiencing a panic attack on a plane that was so severe, her whole body went numb. Fully aware that she had to overcome it in order to continue her entertainment career, Jenner began working with a therapist to come up with a plan of attack. But perhaps the best piece of advice she received came from her older sister, Kim.
“Some people live by it, and because there’s no cure for anxiety you have to get control of your feelings,” she said to Jenner on a recent episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. “You have to get a hold of it.”
Kendall seems to have done just that, through breathing exercises and meditation designed to help keep her in control of her symptoms. She doesn’t plan on letting anxiety affect her success in 2017: “I can’t wait to see where 2017 takes my career, but I know I have big plans!” she wrote.
