Michael Buble’s Toddler Son Diagnosed With Liver Cancer

Singer Michael Buble is sharing the heartbreaking details of his three-year-old son being diagnosed with cancer, but is confident he will be able to make a full recovery.

Buble and his wife, Luisana Lopilato, broke the news last week that Noah had been diagnosed with liver cancer. They took him to a doctor in Buenos Aires for a suspected case of mumps, which progressed into a liver biopsy and the eventual diagnosis. Lopilato’s sister, Daniela, told Argentinean magazine Gente that the little boy will now begin four months of chemotherapy.

“If God wanted it to be discovered that way, it’s because he wants to save Noah. Cancer is a horrible illness but we have faith in Noah being able to overcome this. We know he will,” said Daniela. “The time to start a long and very difficult treatment has come, but it’s got to be done. They say children are normally strong to put up with chemotherapy and my nephew is a warrior.”

Buble and Luisana released their own statement about the tragic news via Facebook, with the singer revealing that he will put his career on hold to be a caregiver for Noah.

“We’ve always talked a lot about the importance of the family and the love we have for our children. [Luisana] and I are going to spend all our time and attention to help Noah to get better, by suspending our professional activities for now,” they wrote. “During this difficult time, we ask that you pray for him and please respect our privacy.”

There is the possibility that Noah will also need surgery afterwards. However, doctors reportedly told the couple that the boy had a 90 percent chance of defeating his cancer after the chemotherapy.

We wish all the best to the whole family during this difficult time.
