Raising A Child With Sickle Cell: Nicole Fraser’s Story

Chronic illness can be devastating for families, but it can especially difficult when it’s your child who is suffering. The fight to receive a proper diagnosis and care plan is easier for some than others, but continued persistence and a positive attitude often yields big rewards.

We hope you enjoy this brief audio story featuring Nicole (second from left) and Romel (far right), whose daughter Danyella (third from left), was diagnosed with sickle cell 10 years ago. Through their unwavering persistence to provide their daughter with quality treatment and supportive care, Danyella is now thriving and lives like any other girl her age.
